I have 3 ride-on toys that I think are the bees-knees because they have never failed me (or my friends with kids). And these toys continue to prove themselves the bests through parental polls and Amazon reviews. Each one encourages a toddler’s sense of independence, self-confidence, and self-reliance – all great things that will make their transitions between toddler to child – and eventually, teen to adult – that much easier.
The 3 ride-on toys I have dubbed “the best” are:

Prince Lionheart Wheely Bug
Adorable! Available as 7 super-cool animals, Prince Lionheart is the most popular with his tiger stripes and oh-so-cute face. His ears are lined in white (faux) fur, and he has a nubby tail that only makes this ride-on twice eye-catching.
Kiddos can ride on Prince Lionheart by grasping the handle on both sides and pushing off from the floor with their feet – perfect for toddlers who have just comprehended the “hang on” motion of riding moving objects.

Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Stride-to-Ride Puppy
You may recognize the puppy as a stuffed animal named Violet from the Fisher-Price collection of educational toys for tykes. And they have brought that adorable doggy back with more features and buttons to entertain, teach, and amuse. Plus – kids can now ride on the pup by hanging onto the giant blue ears and kicking off from the ground.
The sleek-rolling wheels are smooth and flawless, perfect for riding over a slick surface – indoors or outdoors. And the puppy barks, pants, and howls while push-button activities teach young’uns about shapes, ABCs, numbers, and colors.

Step2 Whisper Ride II
The luxury car of kiddie ride-on toys! Whisper was so-named because of the silence that accompanies the rolling of sleek wheels. For a truly soundless ride on most outdoor terrain or indoor flooring, this ride-on is beautifully colored with vibrant blue, includes realistic headlights, and features a pull-along/push-along handle.
There are also 6 snack/cup holders with a large storage compartment in front for small toys or teddy bears that want to ride along. And an easy-snap seatbelt secures toddlers in place for their safety during long rides. An ideal ride-on for park visits or neighborhood strolls!
