My second post in a series of "best toys for girls" - the Best Toys - Girls 5-6 Years for 2008.I had a lot of fun putting this list together this year - for this particular age group there really are some fantastic toys available and it seems like each year the toys just keep getting better and better for the little gals. :)
OK, without further adieu, here they are - the Best Toys - Girls 5-6 years for 2008 (and will also be great into 2009):
1. Fur Real Friends Biscuit My Lovin' Pup - Oh my, this little pup
is the closest thing I've seen to the real thing in a toy - ever. He's a sort of an "AI" toy - he responds to kids with gestures, little barks and follows commands quite obediently. (Well, okay, maybe he's not exactly like a real dog - ha!) 2. High School Musical 3 Sing Together Dolls - These are character dolls from the High
School Musical 3 film, with a unique twist - they can sing along with kids! A microphone comes with the doll, and when passed back and forth from the child to the doll, they actually can take turns singing to the same song. A great way for girls to sing with their favorite star (or stars) from the movie. At this point, there doesn't appear to be much opportunity for a huge discount on these dolls, but there are available for around $23 on Amazon:

3. Barbie and the Diamond Castle Dolls - Again, we have lead characters from a movie,
"Barbie and the Diamond Castle". These dolls are very special - and will be much loved by little girls who love Barbie. There are several characters from the movie available but the most popular ones are the two main characters, Princess Liana and Princess Alexa. The dresses are something very special - they actually transform from simple pretty dresses to elaborate and elegant princess dresses with the twist of a wrist. Fun! I've found these dolls for as little as around $12 each on Amazon - looks like the best deal:

4. Littlest Pet Shop Pet Collections - Littlest Pet Shop toys are very hot this year, but for the "Best Toys - Girls 5-6" list, it's the collections. These are the smaller versions of the adorable big-eyed toys, and are collectible for girls who love and play with them. Best deal - Amazon:

5. Playskool/Hasbro Honeybee Hop Toys - One
of the Best Toys for Girls 5-6, the Honeybee Hop has a beehive in the center that spins around a busy buzzing bee - the object of the game is to jump over the bee in order to miss it, and make sure you make each jump as the bee comes around! Best deal - Amazon (by a long shot!) - retail price is around $25, I found it for $10:
