Outdoor Pools For Families

Kids never seem to want for anything when it comes to cooling off on a scorching summer’s day. However, adults are a different story; sitting on their porches with an envious look in their eyes and a distant thought to just leap into the kiddie pool. Where’s the relief? Fortunately, there are ways for the entire family to have a chilled swim without pushing anybody out of the miniature inflatable. The best above ground pools are large enough to comfortably hold 7-8 people, or more, depending on occupant size and capacity.

With that in mind, here’s my short-list of favorites:

Intex Easy Set Round Pool

With a height of either 12 feet or 18 feet, this inflatable is a cinch to set up, inclusive of an instructional DVD and paper directions. Equipped with a filter pump, the pool can remain set-up and filled through the entire summer season, as long as adults take the precautions to cover the top with tarp when not in use. Affordable and perfect for a medium-size backyard, this pool is ideal for a family of 5-6, with swimmers being 7 years and older (under supervision).

Intex Family Size Round Metal Frame

This pool is surprisingly spacious! Holding a whopping 1718 gallons of water, it can also accommodate large families of 9 or more. You’ll know if it gets too crowded! 30 feet high and 12 feet in diameter, the metal frame is equipped with a step-out ladder for easy access. It would do great on the ground or settled on a large outdoor deck.

Intex Oval Frame Pool Set

This pool is an 18 feet by 10-foot oval, with a depth of 42 inches, allowing family members to actually swim, instead of only wading. Ideal for smaller children, who are just learning how to glide through water, the frame is sturdy enough for kickoffs and resting.
