LeapFrog LeapPad2 Explorer - The Educational Console

In a world rife with bad television and violent video games, it’s comforting for parents to know that there are LeapFrog toys 2012 – specifically the LeapFrog LeapPad2 Explorer. Wholesome, educational, and still entertaining, these handheld devices are one less thing for parents to worry about. There are no violent graphics and the games are pre-approved for the purposes of learning and a positive experience. It’s all-encompassing and immersive; a device with downloadable games or gaming cartridges that strive to enrich the lives of their players. An extra bonus is that expensive IPads and adult tablets will no longer be the focal point for your little boy’s interest. Instead, he’ll be enamored with his own electronic knick-knack.

What games does the LeapPad2 offer?

There are 5 pre-downloaded applications for kids to play as soon as they have their console charged up – almost straight out of the box! This includes:

Pet Pad

This game allows kids to create and nurture their own pet. From dogs and cats to turtles or hamsters, the pets are all here, waiting to be fed, played with, and cleaned up after. You can even teach them tricks and train them! It’s the responsibility and cuteness of owning a pet, without the mess that one might leave around the house. Plus, it’s an excellent judge of how well a child might take care of a real animal around the home.

Art Studio

This is one of the favorites of LeapPad2 gamers! With everything your child needs to create a beautiful scene or a monstrous comic-book plot, this game gives kids a creative outlet – offering them a chance to use their imaginations without leaving behind a puddle of paint for mom to clean up. They can also take their creation to the Cartoon Director app for a quick lesson in animation!

Leapfrog Games - Exploring the Explorer

LeapFrog LeapsterGS Explorer
With the new LeapFrog toys springing off the assembly line and into retail outlets, it’s no surprise that there is also a brand-new line of games to accompany them. However, the most anticipated and played upon Leapfrog gadget of the season is the LeapFrog LeapsterGS Explorer; a handheld gaming console with educational elements and entertaining pre-downloaded applications. This console acts as a camera, video recorder, library for over 300 downloads (including books and movies), and the ultimate source of learning fun for kids wherever they happen to be. It’s great for long car trips or after school game time on the couch. There’s no wrong way to go with this device!

Jake and the Neverland Pirates

Your little boy will likely recognize Jake and his band of treasure-hunting misfits from the flourishing Disney show. In this game, Captain Hook is (again) after Jake’s bountiful trove of gems and rare gold; therefore, your son has to navigate Jake through a series of mini-games to thwart Hook. Appropriate for children 3 and up, this is a unique learning game, designed to help with puzzle solving, matching shapes, counting, and a slew of other skills that are integral to your son’s growing imagination and mind.

The Magic School Bus Oceans

Most adults can relate to the memory of the good times aboard the Magic School Bus! This game takes kids aboard to dive beneath the ocean, discovering over 100 sea animals – each with their own unique fact. Ideal for children 5 and up, this teaches about science where little eyes usually don’t get to travel, while instilling other qualities like observation, sorting, classifying, and reasoning. A total of seven games and several mini-events will unlock more fun facts about the interesting creatures of the sea.
