The Best Baby Toys that Help with Imagination & Development

2015-2016 Best Baby Toys

Babies are little sponges—absorbing the amazing things in the world around them and storing that information in their little minds for use throughout their toddler-dom and childhood. For this reason, picking the right toys is of the utmost importance—moreso for babies than any other kids’ age group.

With the importance factor in mind, I handpicked three of the best baby toys this year—all great for helping build flourishing imaginations, while encouraging development in early subjects, such as coordination, fine motor skills, and even basic sing-along songs, or letters, numbers, colors, shapes, and animals.

These are the best of the best because they incorporate several learning elements, coupled with hours of attention-grabbing, fun activities, to help the youngest kiddos build upon brilliant minds. Additionally, these toys are compact enough for tote-anywhere playing and learning.

Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes

I love everything from Baby Einstein because the brand focuses on toys that are not only fun for young kiddos, but highly educational as well.

Take Along Tunes is an adorable knickknack with dozens of sing-along songs and sweet melodies, plus rainbow-colored musical notes that stream across the front screen.

The handle is a cute caterpillar with colorful beads—perfect for easier gripping. This is an ideal take-along toy for road trips or on-the-go families.

Through exploration of different buttons and flip-over tiles, kids will learn about letters, shapes, colors, and numbers, as well as a few animals.

There are also sing-along songs that are easy to learn and recognize.

This is a great toy for encouraging creativity, imagination, and overall mental development.

We are going back to the brilliant basics for babies! This Fisher-Price favorite has been around for quite some time, but this one has gotten a revamp for modern youngsters.

The colors are vibrant and bold, the lid and block box are larger and easier to handle, and the cut-outs are simpler to grasp with more defined shapes.

This is a take-anywhere toy that kiddos can play with in the car, waiting rooms, or their own homes, and the handle makes it easier for them to carry it with them wherever they go.

3 Baby Toys that Make a Learning Impact

Hand-picking the best toys for babies is one of the most important things you can possibly do for your little youngsters – even moreso than picking the perfect toys for kids of any other age.

Why?

Because babies in the post or pre toddler years are the equivalent of miniature sponges – their minds absorb absolutely anything, which means almost everything is extremely important to their development. With that always in mind, I strive to choose the very best of the best learning-wise when it comes to baby toys.

This year, the top 3 picks among the best baby toys are expansive when it comes to educational and development. Each toy does and teaches a wide variety of different things to enrich the minds of your little cuties. Additionally, each toy on the following short-list is colorful, creative, and perfect for capturing and holding a youngster’s attention.

Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes

If you have ever traveled in a car with a rambunctious baby, you know how important it is to keep that kiddo happy throughout the duration of your ride. If babies are bored, they turn into screeching machines intent on shattering the sound barriers and the nerves of their fellow passengers.

Fortunately, you can keep your youngster happily bouncing in time to the music of these take-along tunes. There are over a dozen nursery rhymes and classical music melodies, encouraging music appreciation from an early age.

Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Soothe and Glow Seahorse

How can a soothing seahorse make a learning impact on your baby? Well – sleeping well is a learned skill - at least that is what many an up-all-night parent will tell you.

Little boys and girls are encouraged to sleep through the night, comfortably, while snuggling and cuddling with a plush seahorse.

There are little musical sounds that come from the seahorse’s belly, and each one glow gently to calm kiddos to sleep.

Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Love to Play Puppy

Puppies, puppies, puppies! At some point, your youngster is likely to ask for a pet, but the Learn to Love puppy is a guaranteed way to prepare your kiddo for the responsibility of a pup without the mess that some doggies can leave behind. Plus, this pup is super-educational with different buttons that do and teach different things. Push-buttons on the puppy’s tummy, paws, and ears are perfect for teaching your little one how to sort through shapes, count numbers, remember the alphabet, and learn sing-along songs.

Colorfully spinning rollers, shape sorters, light-up buttons, and piano keys entertain your little one for hours on end. This sit-to-stand walking teaches your baby how to grasp and pull themselves up into a standing position. From there, children can hang onto the comfortable, neon-green handle to begin walking or shuffling in the right direction. When they’re tired of striving for a few steps, kids can sit and play musical notes, sing-along songs, and fiddle with the rolling gears at the walker’s front.
