The Best LEGO Games - Movie-Inspired

LEGO The Hobbit @ Amazon
Does your child spend too much time in front of the television? Is their room decorated with memorabilia from some of their favorite movies? It's possible to indulge their interest while moving them away from electronics with some of the best LEGO games 2012. We've compiled a small list of movie-inspired LEGO structures in an effort to lure your tiny tyke away from the television and into the 3D action of building scenes straight from their favorite films.

LEGO The Hobbit Game (shown left)

This is a game of memory! Players move through the shire in an epic beginning to their journey, attempting to memorize where their friends are located. 4 micro-figurines shuffle around the board in search of card-like LEGO pieces among 380 other buildable parts. A LEGO dice indicates where a figurine will move and how many spaces, while the building instructions and a thorough rule booklet lets players know what their objectives are. Can your little daydreamer find the missing hobbits in time to set Frodo on the right path to eliminating the ring? Or will the M.I.A. dwarves be lost in the maze of houses?

LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Game

It's a race to the finish in this HP-inspired buildable board game. In the box are 322 pieces and an instruction manual to show 2-4 players how to create and meet their objectives. Included in this set are 5 of the most popular characters from the movie - such as Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, Albus Dumbledore, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley; all built in the likeness of the actual on-screen characters. The moving staircases add a hint of magical chaos as players rush through the hallways in an attempt to find all of their missing homework. Afterwards, it's another dash to the headmaster, earning one player the title of ultimate victor!
